Because Ayurveda is not only a medical science to cure the disease it also tells how we can lead a healthy life. Rather, the main objective of Ayurved is to protect the health of a healthy person, the treatment of the patient comes later. It has been described in the Dincharya getting up early in the Brahm Muhurta first thing to clean your teeth with neem or Babul datum, answering nature’s call, exercise, take bath, morning prayers and then breakfast. After that engage yourself in daily activities, lunch at appropriate time, take rest for some time after lunch, reach home in the evening, then take bath and evening prayers. After doing light dinner, go to your bedroom for rest and sleep.
Ritucharya:According toAyurved, a year has six seasons.Gresham(Summer), Varsha(Rain), Hemant(Mild Winter), Shishir(Extreme Winter), Vasant(Spring) and Patjhar (Autumn). Ayurved is based on the principle of tridosh (Vat, Pitt and Kaph). The dominance of dosh varies according to seasons. Particular dosh have its Accumulation period (sanchyeKaal), Proliferation Period (Prakupit Kaal) and Decreasing period (Shaman Kaal),in a specific season. One should keep changing his daily activities according to the season,like wearing cotton clothes in summer and wearing warm clothes in autumn. Light and digestible food, lots of liquid (water, juices, buttermilk, milk etc.) should be taken in the summer season. Eat rich heavy food (fried or not easily digestible) in the winter season as pitt dosh is in Proliferation Period (Prakupit Kaal) andour stomach Fire (Jathragni) isstrong in the winter season. Therefore, whatever we eat heavy, rich and fried can easily be digested by our digestive system during that period.To conclude if you follow the life style described in Ayurved, you can remain healthy for long period of life.
